Abstract

Self-regulation and problem-solving skills are important for students in the learning process, including in the subject of Aqidah Akhlak. However, some students still experience difficulties in regulating themselves, such as a lack of learning discipline, difficulties in managing time, maintaining focus, and controlling emotions. These conditions may affect students’ ability to understand and solve problems and apply the values of Aqidah Akhlak in daily life. This study aims to determine the relationship between self-regulation and problem-solving skills among ninth-grade students in the Aqidah Akhlak subject at MTs Mathla’ul Anwar Kedondong. This study employed a quantitative method with a correlational approach. The research sample consisted of 43 students selected using simple random sampling. Data were collected using a 1–4 Likert-scale questionnaire. The results showed that students’ self-regulation was in the moderate category, with a mean score of 61.77, while their problem-solving skills were also in the moderate category, with a mean score of 43.35. The analysis showed a positive relationship between self-regulation and problem-solving skills, with a correlation coefficient of 0.624. Thus, the better the students’ self-regulation, the better their problem-solving skills
